DJ Q / Resident DJ / Party Zone

Born on a small island in the Philippines, DJ-Q immigrated to the United States in 1980. For him, the love of music began at an early age, listening to his parent’s collection of vinyl records. His taste in music spans many musical genres, including Pop, Country, 70s, Rock, Classical, HipHop, Reggae, Latin, Freestyle, and Electronic Dance. However, if asked to pick a favorite; it would be  House music. House music, after all, is the reason he began DJ’ing in 1986; inspired by some of Chicago’s House music pioneers such as, Julian Jumpin Perez and Bad Boy Bill.
Over the years, DJ-Q has played, and held residencies at many of Chicago’s nightclubs, such as Medusa, Cuvee, Enclave, Funky Buddha Lounge, Spybar, Sound Bar, Vision, and many more. Currently, he holds residencies at Rivers Casino, and Venuti’s V Lounge every Friday and Saturday in partnership with Julian Jumpin Perez and the Jumpin Events team (DJ Erge, Mark Lojo, Ray Eng, and Julio Sierra). When asked if he’ll ever retire from DJ’ing, “Not likely, as music keeps the mind and soul young”. Peace, Love, and Music.
