The Weeknd Brings in the New Year with “Save Your Tears”

Written by on January 6, 2021

Masquerade masks, moody lighting, and surprises are just some of the things you can expect to see in The Weeknd’s newest music video for “Save Your Tears”.

Abel Makkonen Tesfaye (The Weeknd) started off the year with a bang by already amassing millions of views on it as well as speculation from every corner of the internet.

The most obvious speculations in the video is about The Weeknd’s face, which is, well… distorted. He’s been seen countless times last year accepting awards with a bandaged face and bruised up cheeks, and fans are wondering whether or not those features have anything to do with the new look. Is it a promotional tactic, plastic surgery, or both?

The next speculation is about the video’s jab at The Grammy’s. it’s no secret that The Weeknd has been vocal about his discontent with The Grammy’s after receiving no nominations. In the video, he’s handed a giant trophy only to immediately throw it off to the side. That’ll show ’em.

Finally, there is a Selena-Gomez look-alike in the video that is so close to the real Selena that it feels like it can’t be a coincidence. After all, they used to date.

Check out the video for yourself, but if you feel the urge to cry, don’t. Save your tears for something else.
