There’s A New Tourism Ad For Kazakhstan Thanks To Borat!
Written by Greg Bartusiak on October 27, 2020
The glorious nation of Kazakhstan was never really a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat character, especially after his first movie came out in 2006. Borat made a lot of fun at the expense of his country. Now, they seem to be accepting it and even leaning into it.
The Kazakh Tourism Board created a new ad to get tourists to visit their country. And they are using a familiar catchphrase.
Sacha Baron Cohen is even helping them out by admitting that his version of Kazakhstan has nothing to do with reality. He said, “I chose Kazakhstan because it was a place that almost nobody in the U.S. knew anything about, which allowed us to create a wild, comedic, fake world.
“The real Kazakhstan is a beautiful country with a modern, proud society . . . the opposite of Borat’s version.”
Here’s hoping your next visit to the country will be VERY NIIIICE!!!!
