Bio
Raised on the South Side of Chicago, Rick Guerrero grew up in the heart of the city’s legendary DJ culture. Inspired by the powerhouse mixshows of WBMX and WCYC in the 80s, he developed the sound and passion that would take him from radio to some of Chicago’s most recognized dance floors.

By the early 90s Rick was featured on 90.5 FM’s Alternative Network, where synth pop and new wave helped shape his musical foundation. He later joined the influential Dominating 6 DJ Team, eventually mixing on the same stations that inspired him.

Through the 90s and 2000s he became a fixture in Chicago nightlife with residencies at Convent, Excalibur, Vision, The Drink, Biology Bar, Circus, 720 Club and more, while also performing in New York and Los Angeles.

Today Rick can be heard on 103.1 FM WPNA’s Party Zone, continuing the mixshow tradition that helped shape Chicago’s dance music movement. His sets blend house, Latin house, tech house, 80s synth pop, new wave, club classics and select throwbacks that keep the energy moving.

Rick is also a husband, father of four, and technology professional who continues to stay connected to the music
community through radio, special events and guest appearances.
